About

With more than 80 active members, Godalming Choral Society is a large and lively choir with a wide ranging  musical repertoire and active social programme.   Michael Veazey was our conductor and musical director from 2007 to July 2017 and the choir continuously raised standards under his direction receiving positive reviews.

The continued input from our President, Jonathan Veira who joined us as soloist in Haydn’s Creation in Spring 2017 has also been invaluable.

September 2017 sees the start of a new era with Sam Hayes joining us as the new Musical Director. It is also our 50th Anniversary and we are commissioning a piece of music to be composed by Noah Moseley and performed in our summer concert. This will have a ‘Godalming’ theme being based on words by Gertrude Jekyll.

The society is always seeking new singers and we welcome new members in all voice parts.  Although our approach to singing is professional, the choir retains a warmth and friendliness highly valued by its members and

The society has established a twinning arrangement with L’Ensemble Choral de Joigny, Godalming’s twin town in Burgundy.

We hold three concerts a year plus carol singing and social events.

The Godalming Choral Society is a Registered Charity No. 254800.
