Godalming Choral Society was originally established in 1856, and was re-formed, under the late James Vine, in 1967. Subsequently Nicholas Steinitz was our musical director from 1984 to 2006.

Under their leadership of the choir became one of Surrey's leading choirs. Continuing this tradition, we are very pleased to announce that Michael Veazey joined us as conductor and musical director at the beginning of 2007.

The society is always seeking new singers of experience and we welcome new members in all voice parts. Currently we have about 90 active members. Although our approach to singing is most professional, the choir retains a warmth and friendliness highly valued by its members. Click here for more information

The society has established a twinning arrangement with L'Ensemble Choral de Joigny, Godalming's twin town in Burgundy. A very successful visit to Joigny took place in May 2004, singing in both Joigny and Auxerre. We hold three concerts a year plus Carol Singing And Social Events.

The Godalming Choral Society is a Registered Charity No. 254800.
